Top Free Tennis Courts In North Perth

North Perth hosts a number of free-to-use tennis courts. We’ve collated the top free and highly reviewed courts based on court conditions and facilities available.

1. Edgewater Tennis Courts (Emerald Park)

If you reside near Edgewater, we highly recommend visiting these courts. Located at Edgewater Emerald Park, these courts are one of the popular free courts available. It tends to get busy during most evenings so it might be best to plan your hits early in the day if possible. If you’re fortunate enough to secure the courts in the evening, lights are available for evening play. You’ll find the lighting switch on the left side of the courts facing the oval.

There are two courts available, both in good condition and fairly well maintained. If spiders are not your thing, try not to hit the ball towards the corners of the courts - there’s a few large ones dangling there spectating.

Carpark is convenient, free, and right next to the courts. Public toilets are also available in the building located to the left of the parking lot. A water tap is also available just outside the public toilets – you can fill up your water bottles there.

Edgewater Tennis Courts

2. Hillarys Tennis Courts (Harbour rise)

Situated near Hillarys Boat Harbour, these tennis courts are a hidden gem. It’s fairly easy to get here either via Whitfords Ave or Hepburn Ave. The courts are situated in Harbour View Park in a very nice and clean residential area.

Surprisingly these courts are often unoccupied so definitely check these out if you’re near the area. There are two separate courts available both with their own guarded fence which is great considering most courts (even paid) are adjacent to each other. You’ll find that these courts are in great condition. Lighting is also available with the light switch located on the side of the courts.

Public toilets are located just outside the courts so it’s quite convenient. Access to water taps are also available. The only downside is the parking. There is no dedicated parking for these tennis courts. You’ll need to drive around the neighbourhood and park your car at one of the available parking strips outside someone’s house.

3. Craigie Tennis Courts (Camberwarra Drive)

These courts are another hidden gem. There is only one entry point to the parking lot and that’s via Camberwarra drive or Eagle Street. These courts are often unoccupied as it is not that well known. So, if you’re struggling to find courts, it might be an idea to check these out.

There are two courts available and they are in relatively good condition though not very well maintained. You might need to sweep the leaves off the court before playing your games.

Public toilets are available on the right side of the courts. You’ll also find the lighting switch around there.

Overall these courts are great if you’re searching for free and unoccupied courts.

4. Mullaloo Tennis Courts (Blackboy Park)

Situated in Blackboy Park, these courts are a great find. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood and you’d often find them to be unoccupied. There are two available courts and they are in good condition and well maintained.

Toilets are easily accessible just outside of the courts. Lighting is also available for evening plays. You’ll be able to find the switch at one of the lighting poles.

Dedicated parking is not available so you’ll need to park on the curb or other available spaces. Apart from that, we highly recommend visiting these courts.

5. Kingsley Tennis Courts (Kingsley Park)

Located in Kingsley Park, these tennis courts are in good condition with lighting available for evening play. These courts are not often maintained so you may have to sweep some leaves of the court before playing your game.

Public toilets are not available so you might want to factor that in when deciding to play here. The lighting switch can be found at one of the lighting poles near the carpark. Parking is very convenient located just at the side of the courts.

6. Greenwood Tennis Courts (Penistone Street)

These courts are located in Penistone Park and can be over populated at times. There are two courts available and are in relatively good condition though are not often maintained. You may find traces of sand or leaves on the court so be mindful of that before playing.

There are plenty of parking spots available. The area provides public toilets for your convenience. There’s also lighting available for evening plays.
